TV JAPAN CLUB (TV JAPAN) (Oct. 31st, 2009 On Air)
Japanese filmmaker, Mari Kawade, currently a New York resident, is working hard to achieve her dreams. Her short film, "Park", is currently being screened in New York at the Tribeca Cinemas as part of Big Apple Film Festival.
In 1996, Ms. Kawade traveled to New York to find herself. During that journey, she found filmmaking.
"Park", her third film, is based on her own experience in New York City. Its humor derives from her observations of differences between American and Japanese cultures. I recommend this movie; if you're in the New York area, make sure to go see "Park".
